Consumers are slowly becoming more confident about the housing market. Recently, on a Fannie Mae survey, 75% of the respondents said that now is a good time to buy a home.
In addition there are bright spots to the housing market. The National Association of Realtors announced sales of existing single-family homes jumped 2.6 percent in June. Inventories are at their highest level in over a year and home prices have slowed in many parts of the country. And, mortgage rates remain low by historical standards.
